Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find and analyze the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process of the new DLSU-D course design framework during this time of pandemic. The study also determined the factors affecting the new design course’s effectiveness. The respondents of the study are all college students of DLSU-D enrolled during the first semester of SY 2020-2021 and all the faculty members. The total number of students enrolled in this semester was selected using complete enumeration so that the result is free of sampling error. To measure the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process, a self-made questionnaire was constructed based on the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) and was validated by some experts. To describe and analyze the causal relationship among the factors, Factor Analysis (FA) with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), was utilized. Factor Analysis revealed that the Instructor Presence explained the largest variation of the effectiveness of the new framework model. The SEM results revealed that causal relationships exist between the factors. The most influential indicator in the measurement of the effectiveness of the new framework model is under the learning factor. It is the belief of the students that their skills on the subject improved.
