Groundwater quantity and quality are major concerns for mankind since they are directly linked to human safety. It is a basic need of humans to have access to safe drinking water. However, not all have access to treated water delivered by water service providers. Out of the 401 households in Brgy. Bagonawa, San Enrique, about 44% are not yet covered by this service and still rely on well fitted with hand pump for domestic water supply. The physico-chemical and bacteriological parameters of water samples taken from shallow tubewells with hand pumps parameter were assessed based on the influence of geographical location and seasonal weather condition. Two sampling sites were chosen based on location and the number of users. Groundwater sampling was done for the locations for both dry and wet seasons weather. Three replicates samples were prepared for each sampling point and sampling condition. Based on the results, some parameters were influenced by geographical location and weather condition. There were significant changes in the pH, turbidity, total hardness, chlorides, and sulfates with respect to the location of the groundwater source. These changes may be attributable to the presence of the river near the sampling point. For weather condition, there were significant changes in the pH, turbidity, total hardness, nitrites, nitrates, sulfates, and total dissolved solids. The physico-chemical parameters for the groundwater sources analyzed were within the allowable limit set by DOH AO No.2017-0010: PNSDW of 2017. For bacteriological parameters, total coliform count for all sampling points and conditions exceeded the limit, which is <1.1 MPN. For dry weather sampling, the mean values were 2.6 MPN and 1.1 MPN for SP No.1 and No.2, respectively. For wet weather sampling, the mean values were 3.93 MPN and 6.30 MPN for SP No.1 and No.2, respectively. Thus, it is unsafe for direct domestic use. In general, comparison with the results of analyses of water supply from La Carlota City Water District showed higher values of parameters, which is due to the water treatment done prior to distribution to the concessioners.
