The purpose of this research was to determine the thinking processes of Grade 11 students in solving Probability and Statistics problems. It also aimed to identify the nature of error for solving the problem unsuccessfully and the strategies used for successfully solving the problem. Using a descriptive method, this study involved participants who were determined by a cluster sampling of 115 students. Findings revealed that the thinking processes of the students in solving problems successfully were scanning, searching, and referencing, whereby they have used relevant information in problem-solving. They also used heuristics as a strategy for successful problem-solving. Results further showed that carelessness error and computational error are the reasons for solving the problem unsuccessfully. It is, therefore, recommended that students be provided with more problem-solving experience to gain a clearer solution path and could utilize various strategies in eliminating and avoiding such errors.
